The ADHD Psychic Indigo Connection

I read the books The Indigo Children: The New Kids Have Arrived and The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children back in 2002, not too long after they were published. At the time I was trying to learn everything about ADD / ADHD that I could. I was open minded and could relate to much of the of what was being described. It made sense to me but as an overwhelmed, anxious, stressed 28 year woman with ADD / ADHD I didn't find the books helpful. So, they went to my ADD / ADHD bookshelf and collected dust for about a decade until they were donated.

Over the past few weeks I have seen a lot of people on social media linking to the article Some Psychologists Say ADHD Sufferers Are Actually ‘Indigo Children’. The ADHD Indigo "Psychic" theory isn't really new. It's been around for at least a couple of decades. Since it's becoming popular again, I think it's time for me to begin to discuss my views and experiences. 

As an ADHD Coach and expert I can say I do believe there is a connection. I have spent the last 2 decades educating myself about ADD / ADHD and attended numerous ADD / ADHD conferences and events. I've gotten to know many people with ADD / ADHD too. I've gained an understanding from scientific and personal perspective.

Over the past 4 years I've been on a bit of spiritual journey or quest. I've taken several metaphysical type classes and attended spiritual events and conferences. Many of the Psychics, Mediums, Intuitives, and Healers that I've met have ADD / ADHD themselves. The stories many of these people tell are strikingly similar to many of the stories people with ADD / ADHD have shared too.

YES, I believe there is an ADD / ADHD "Psychic" Indigo connection. What does it mean? I'm not quite sure yet. I will be posting more on my blog as I learn.

Hi Tara been following you for the past year or so. You hit a very sensitive bone with me this time.
I was a member of an armed forces 50 s and early 60s version of the Arian axis Youth movement but this was in Canada. It was called the apprentice traing corps and we trained with 7 or 8 different services branches. The Criteria required that we be high school drop outs who were trying to redo a highschool education while taking military training. It amounted to 2 years of basic training broken up by mornings of High School studies taught in our case by professors from McGill University in Montreal. A few of us were singled out to take various tests at the infamous Allen clinic this was 1961-2 . The bait was that they would test us for ESP . Electrodes were pasted on us, in some tests and in others we were expected to identify cards from their back side. Etc. I cant remember who went with me or the trips back but I can remember the trips there down Sherbrooke Street from Hochelaga Barracks. Recently I reconnected with one of my mates from our same hometown and he has the same memories and ID 'd a third from our town as well who participated.
Obviously the selection process engineered by The equally famous Ewen Cameron the credited author of all that is in the Kubark (CIA and USA military interrogation Manual) from experiments he conducted at the Allen Clinic of Mcgill university who acknowledge their participation but haven't apologized as far as i know.

The irony is that the cover for the Canadian Governments $contribution to Cameron for this was ESP research .

I was diagnosed this year at the age of 71 as ADD Combined. And started on Concerta and
We dont know about the third member of our original group but I am guessing he was as well.
ESP training. Were they speculating about ESP and high school highly active 16 year old dropouts and ADHD candidates that long ago .

In spite of ,and for many years, thinking that I had ESP or otherwise was gifted, the proof I was not kept hitting me over the head til it hurt. I am certain my three ex wives do not consider it a gift and would laugh if you thought I was psychic...forgetful definitely . Like unimportant things Locking the Door when we left. Or my keys.
It is a deficit of three of "THE NEUROCHEMICALS OF HAPPINESS" that seems to create our "gift" with perhaps some other talents thrown in to compensate. In my case an ability to memorize new choral music having heard a harmonic part three times for more than a hundred pieces of new choral music a year. And a savant like skill with numbers. But so did my sister and brother and mother and they arent ADHD. Or Indigo.
In my case I believe that a hereditary gift of the Hrd4 gene combined with the death of my two years old sister 12 or 13 weeks into moms pregnancy with me her 12 th child in the last year of the WW2 produced the major stress that resulted in my "Gift" of ADHD. The fact her oldest son was serving on a Canadian Navy ship somewhere in the North Atlantic didnt help either. Especially when his frigate was sunk while unknown to her he had not made it back in time to sailwith her. He was sobering up in a US Jail after trying to drive back to Halifax from Montreal to report for duty.somewhat drunk. Late first or early Second trimester major stress I think they call it. His reward for all this was the to become a hero of the Soviet Union for being part of the Navy that guarded convoys sailing from southhampton in England to Murmansk in Russia.
