Can you believe it's already September? It's a new month with new energy. I know that I'm sure ready for new energy and positive changes this month. I've been hearing from so many people, especially people with ADD / ADHD, that they have been more stressed and overwhelmed over these past few months than usual.
Sometimes we can't control what life throws at us and stress and overwhelm become the norm in our lives. We often feel powerless when this happens and go even deeper into this heavy feelings. We do have the power to come out of this and improve our own lives even if we can't change some of the circumstances.
Often, making a tiny change in our own lives can make a world of difference. Adjusting and shifting our mindsets just a little bit is one of those changes that can improve our lives. Sometimes we are able to make those shifts on our own.
Many of us need something or somebody outside of ourselves to help us begin those shifts. Who or what may be different for each of us. My intention is that this newsletter acts as a spark to help you with your own shift.
Since it's a new month, my challenge for you is to think about what you want more of in your life this month.
If you accept this challenge, take it a step further and write down these things. When you write them down put them in the present tense as if they are already in your life.
Here are a few examples:
1. I am peaceful and relaxed.
2. I have a clean and organized home.
3. I am having fun and enjoying life.
4. I am healthy and well rested.
5. I am happy and successful.
Keep your list some place easily accessible and refer back to it regularly through out the month of September. Say some of the things on your list out loud. Picture or imagine what it is like to have these things in your life. Practice focusing on these things which you are ready to bring more of into your life.
Good luck! Here's to an awesome September! Let's all make it a great month.

I receive a lot of emails from people asking me how to become an ADHD Coach. There is no official path on how to become an ADHD Coach. The most accepted path by the professional ADHD Coaching Community is to go through an ADHD Coach training program. There are a handful of ADHD Coach Training programs out there.
My colleague and ADHD Coaching Expert Laurie Dupar opened the International ADHD Coach Training Center this past fall. The next training session begins on March 28, 2016. If you are thinking about becoming an ADHD Coach, I highly recommend checking out the International ADHD Coach Training Center.
On the International ADHD Coach Training Center website you can sign up to receive the complimentary gifts and tools about ADHD Coaching: “Do You Have What it Takes to Be an ADHD Coach? ” and “ADHD Coaches Needed! How to Help Others with ADHD and Make a Difference ” audio. You may also schedule a FREE call with Laurie Dupar if you have questions about the International ADHD Coach Training Center.
Wow, I can't believe it's been well over a month since I wrote a blog post. I've been busy working some ADD / ADHD projects. I'm really excited to let my blog readers know about the FREE Peer Coaching Group! It's a 6 week accountability group and it begins on Monday, September 28, 2015. It's a very simple and effective format! Best of all it's FREE!

Over a decade ago I started offering ADHD / ADHD Coaching services for Adults with ADD / ADHD. At the time I wanted to help people and I began offering individual telephone coaching at very affordable rates. I helped a lot of people and really enjoyed what I was doing.
My focus began shifting over the years when ADDClasses.com really took off and I was able to help so many more people with classes and group programs. While I still worked an ADD / ADHD Coach I wasn't taking on very many clients. This past year I began offering the Adult ADD Productivity Circle and the 15 minute group sessions helped hundreds of people get things done. There is really something to those 15 minute text-based sessions!
I am excited to announce that I'm now offering convenient and affordable individual coaching sessions once again! My Focused Action Coaching Sessions are 15 minute text-based sessions that get people Focused and in Action! The cost of each Focused Action Coaching Session is ONLY $11 and you may purchase 1 session at time!
I get a lot of requests from people looking for ADD / ADHD Coaches they can afford. At this time my coaching services are limited and I am not taking on new clients. I often have ADHD Coaches on ADHD Support Talk Radio and the ADD Audio Library has several Coaches. These are two great resources to start with and to get a bit of an introduction to some ADD / ADHD Coaches.
Another resource I recommend is the ADHD Coaches Organization. Not only do I recommend that you search their directory, I also recommend that you contact the organization directly. Let them know what you want and need in an ADD / ADHD and how much you can afford to pay an ADD / ADHD. The people making the decisions about ADD / ADHD Coaching really need to hear from the people with ADD / ADHD.
If you do contact the ADHD Coaches Organization be sure to let them know I sent you!
There is still a lot of confusion out there about what an ADHD Coach really does. Over the past years I been in contact with thousands of people who come to me thinking they are looking for an ADHD Coach when in fact they are really looking for an ADHD Assistant.
If you are simply looking for somebody to remind or nag you, you are looking for an ADHD Assistant. If you are looking for a little bit of accountability, then you are probably looking for an ADHD Assistant. If you are looking for somebody else to do the work for you, then you are looking for an ADHD Assistant. If you are looking for somebody to just be there with you while you work, but not offer feedback then you are looking for an ADHD Assistant.
So, what is the difference between an ADHD Coach and ADHD Assistant?
The ADHD Coach offers Feedback and helps the client develop solutions and strategies. Usually, (Hopefully) the ADHD Coach is also an expert in ADD / ADHD. The relationship between an ADHD Coach and client is also a partnership. Success in ADHD Coaching is dependent of the ADHD Coaching Client putting in as much or more time, effort, and energy as the ADHD coach.
A lot of times people with ADD / ADHD aren't quite ready to work with an ADHD Coach. However, most people are usually ready to work with an ADHD Assistant. It all depends where people are in their ADD Journey. People can also work with both an ADHD Coach and an ADHD Assistant.
